Romantic Valentine's Day Makeup

Hey guys! So I put together this look today for you guys, it's perfect for Valentine's Day, date night, or even for your prom. I also uploaded a tutorial of it on my Youtube page, so in this blog, I wanted to show more detailed pictures and some more information about the look. Thanks, and I hope you like it!

NOTE: Yes, I'm wearing my pj's :)P

This look is very light, pinky, and romantic. It's actually well liked by my own boyfriend, since he likes when I have lighter makeup on my eyes. It gives the eyes nice dimension, with not a ton of dark color. The base color is a light pink, then the outer corner is a mix of shimmery silver, dark plum, and dark shimmery brown. This makes the eyes darker, without having harsh black. Then I used very pink blush, and shimmery pink highlighter with just a little bronzer. This makes the face glowy, with lots of color to the cheeks. Then I have a light, pinky lipgloss on the lips, which adds to the overall pinkness. I love this look for going out, since it's formal but simple at the same time. I hope you all liked it, and if you have any questions, just let me know.

Spring Fashion Trends!!

Hey guys! So I wanted to show you guys a few looks I came up with going into spring! These are all my own clothes, my own ideas, and my own inspirations. They follow all the recent trends coming out for spring, but I've added my own personal style to them! I hope you like them all, and I'm also going to be uploading a video soon about them as well. Enjoy!

1. Boxy Top with a High Waisted Skirt: I've been a fan of the high waisted skirt since last year, and just love pairing it with loose, boxy time like this leopard print one. I tucked the top in so make it a bit flouncier, and put a small, braided white belt around my waist. I also wore short scrunched boots, the same color brown in the leopard spots. I really like this outfit, because it's exciting and a bold statement, but still super wearable and cute. You can also wear it with tights or leggings, or untuck the shirt to make it more relaxed.
2. Off the Shoulder T-Shirt with Shorts and Tights: This outfit is adorable!! I take a lot of my inspiration from Japanese and Asian fashion trends, and this one really plays off that. I wore a loose, off the shoulder top, with a pair of mint-green jean short-shorts. This adds more color to the outfit and makes it more spring-ready. Then I put some black polka dot tights on underneath- these cover your legs, and the polka dots make it unique and super girly. Then I added my favorite knee-high boots to finish. This look is very playful, especially with your hair in a messy ponytail. It's perfect for those warmer spring days and even into the summer.
3. T-Shirts with Cropped Moto-Jackets and Flared Jeans: This is the migration from skinny jeans to back to my basics. I love flared and bootcut jeans, and these one go perfect with any outfit! I wore a fitted light peach top with a neutral motorcyle-like cropped jacket. The jacket is really cute, and perfect for all your crop tops or just with anything, and since it's a neutral color it goes with any color! I then wore some pale yellow Converse sneakers. Investing in a good pair of color sneakers for spring is a must-have, this they're essentials- you can wear them with dresses, jeans, shorts, everyday! This outfit is very cute for everyday, for school, or even for a date... with the right accessories!
4. Bright Graphic Sweatshirt and Skinny Jeans: This outfit is extremely relaxed and comfy. I wore my hair in a high side ponytail to make the look even more at ease. The sweatshirt is an adorable coral color, with a graphic or a winking smiley face, and is also cropped, so it's shorter than most sweatshirts. I paired it with my gray skinny jeans (you can do any color of skinnies) and my mid-calf black leather boots. This outfit is perfect for lounging around the house, running errands, or for going out even. Wear it with your hair up or down, and you'll look and feel comfy-cozy.
5. Floral Dresses, Lace Stockings and Bright Colored Shoes: This look is adorable!! I wore my hair half up just to make it a little more formal, sort of like a messy bouffant. This body-con dress is in a very colorful floral pattern, with 3-quarter length sleeves so your arms won't be cold in the sometimes chilly spring weather. I paired it with a pair of super sexy stockings- they have elastic at the top to hold them up on your skin all day long. Then I wore my new pinky-coral pumps with a 1-inch heel, just to add some more feminine attitude to the dress. This outfit is perfect for people who want a good dress with sleeves that also hugs your curves and shows off your body. You can also wear this with tights or even dark skinny jeans to tone down the sexy. But still, it's perfect for a night out!

Thanks so much for reading and looking at the outfits! I hope you liked all of them, and maybe they gave you some ideas for things you'll be wanting to wear this spring season. Check back soon for more posts, but until then...

What are the new spring colors?!

Hey guys! I wanted to post a quick blog talking to you about the new color trends in makeup for Spring 2011! So, of course, spring always brings in pastels and colors, but there are a few colors that are going to be really big as the flowers start growing!

Gold- This color is always a big, fun shade, but for spring we're looking at very pale and green golds, which are going to look fresh and pretty. Darker golds are good too, but work better for the summer. So look for shadows with light gold, flecks of green and other pastels. And pick light gold bronzers for a beginning glow!

Purple- A must have for every girl, this color works on almost every skin tone and with every eye color- especially hazel's and green's. Look for lilacs, pink-purples, and deep violets. Purples work great for smokey eyes, for defining your eyes as an eyeliner, and can also be very flattering on your lips.

Pink- It's every girl's favorite color, and for a good reason. Look at all ranges- light pink to deep and hot pink. Bright pink cheeks will brighten up any look for the spring, and light pink lids will open up your eyes and make you more awake. Stock up on your favorite pink lipsticks, because these will be an everyday must-have.

Nude- From champagne shades to tan ones, nude always works. When coming back into the spring, nude is always good so that your makeup isn't too dark. Look for perfect champagne shadows, peachy blushes, and pinky-nude lips. This color isn't always thought as the most exciting, but it can make a statement with the right shades. Whether it's pure peach or varried shades, this color works for everyone.

Green- The true color of spring, green is one of those colors you need to be careful with. Make sure to find a shade that works with your skintone, and you're set. Dark greens are perfect for smokey eyes, and lighter greens are great for statement looks. Pair green eyes with neutral lips and bright cheeks and you'll be the one whose waking up the season.

Thanks for reading about the big colors for spring makeup! Hopefully I'll be able to create a look for spring soon and make a tutorial, so keep checking my channel for an upcoming look! Next time you go shopping for makeup, keep these colors in mind!

Wren

My January Top Faves!

Hey there guys! So I did a video about this, but I wanted to post here aswell. I put together my top 10 favorite beauty products from the month of January, so also wanted to talk a little more in detail about them here :)

1. Urban Decay Afterglow Powder Blush in Quickie- I LOVE this blush!! It's the perfect, bubblegum pink blush, and has a bit of sheen in it, so it gives your skin that glow. I've been using this blush for years, and it is my staple blush, I use it basically everyday. However, Urban Decay decided to discontinue their powder blushes :( So you can't buy this product anymore. But luckily, they came out with cream blushes, and Quickie is one of the shades!! Yay! So if you get the chance, try this blush, it's amazing!

2. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow- This is my go-to eyeshadow. I use this almost everyday, its perfect for my hazel eyes and slightly-tan skin tone, and the pigment is actually really good for drugstore quality. It contains two shades- one is a bronzy brown, and the second is a mix of tan brown pink and orange. The shades work perfect together, blend nicely, and look shimmery and gorgeous!! They come in several shade duos, including purples, greens, tans and blues, so check them out!

3. Ardell Fashion Lashes in 110 Black- Even though these are drugstore lashes, these work amazingly well!! My lashes are already fairly long and full, so I wear these on days I just want to look even more voluminous in the lash area. They're so comfortable to wear, it feels like there's nothing there! They also cheap, which is really nice. I've had a few pairs from Ardell, but I just keep going back to these, they're my favorites. They have different lengths in them, so for people with shorter lashes, they'd blend really well. Try them!!

4. NARS Lipgloss in Turkish Delight- I first saw this lipgloss in a video that feature Kim Kardashian, and this was the lipgloss she used. I went and bought it from Sephora a few days later, and I love it! It's a really pretty light pink color, really thick but not sticky, and it looks good over natural lips or lipstick. It's kinda pricey (I think it's about $25...), but NARS makes really good quality so it's worth the money. I've been wearing this lipgloss for months, and its my staple now, and it seems to work on just about every skin tone, which is amazing. I love it!!

5. MAC Satin Blush in Fleur Power- This was the very first product I ever got or bought from the MAC brand, and I adore it. It's the most beautiful coral-pinky color I've ever seen, and it looks amazing on my cheeks. I can wear it light for just a touch of color, or heavier for a flushed look. Either way, it looks amazing. It doesn't flake when I put the brush in it, and a little goes a long way. I hope to try out more great MAC blushes, because I can see that the high quality is there.

6. Anastasia Go Brow Pencil and Highlighter- This is the perfect staple for anyone who loves to fill in their brows and highlight them in one pencil. One side has a ashy-brown color for filling in your brows, and the other has a pearly pink color for highlighting under the brow. While the brow shade is not for everyone, it works very well to fill in sparse spots and does a good job. The highlight blends easily into your skin, and looks glowy without being sparkly. It's a very thick pencil though, so you'll want to invest in a good sharpener than works for bigger pencils.

7. Maybelline One on One Volume Express Mascara- I happened upon this mascara one day at Target, and was immediately captivated by the bright coral-pink bottle. This mascara is awesome!! I've been using it every day for the past 3 weeks, and its perfect. It give my lashes length, seperation, volume, and a matte black color. The brush is made of rubber bristles, so its easy to wiggle in your lashes. It also works great on my lower lashes, the brush isn't so big that it gets on the skin under my eyes. I love it!

8. Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush SPF 15 Lipgloss in Tropicool- This lipgloss is AMAZING!! I saw it one day while shopping, and was hooked when I saw it had SPF, so I bought it immediately. The color is so cute- it's bright hot pink with gold little sparkles, and looks amazing over natural lips. It also smells and tastes like raspberries! I've always loved Beauty Rush's lipglosses, but this one tops the list!

9. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Born with It- This lipstick is my all time favorite. I don't care if it's from the drugstore, I've never found a department store lipstick that compares to this one. I've been using this for months, it's my everyday color, and looks amazing. Its a nude pink color, very natural looking, with a little bit of sparkles, but not too much. I love wearing it alone or with lipgloss over it. And, it lasts for hours!! I'm not kidding haha. It's amazing. I'd recommend you try any of the Color Sensational lipsticks, they're all great quality and have awesome shades.

10. Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette- This palette is perfect for Valentines day!! It just came out last month, and I had to get it! It has nine eyeshadows, and also comes with three create-the-looks cards that show you how to get certain looks with the shadows available. I wish it came with a blush too, but the size is perfect. It's great for travel (I recently took it on a trip with me) and has all the shades you need to create so many different looks! I love the Too Faced brand, and this new palette is awesome!

Ok guys, well thanks for reading my review/favorite products. I'm also attaching the video link so you guys and see more and be able to actually see the products I'm telling you about. Thanks!!

Review: HerCut Long Layers Catalyst

Hey there! So in one of my most recent Youtube videos, I did a collective haul and mentioned purchasing the Long Layers Catalyst from HerCut haircare. This product says that "luxe layers stay connected and never fall flat", and you "get height at the roots and bouncy, touchable movement everywhere else".

HerCut is a hairline sold at Sephora, and they designed specialized Catalysts for different haircuts. So basically, all their products are geared towards keeping you haircut looking like new everyday. I purchased the one for long layered hair, since my hair is very long, and has layers. The product comes in a packaging of two seperate but connected bottles, one with a cream and one with a gel. It has a nice combined scent, very herbal and floral. You're supposed to squirt them out together, emulsify them in your hands, then work it through towel-dry hair.

I followed the steps and blow dried my hair. I round brushed the top layers and then flipped my head over and blow dried the rest. My first reactions towards this product is that it's very heavy. It feels thick in my hair, almost like there's too much product (the bottle recommends 2-3 pumps, and I did 3). Also, it doesn't feel very "bouncy", as the packaging put it. It feels kind of stuck together, not in a sticky way but just held together as a style. However, my hair looks like it has more body, more volume, and the ends are more defined and piece-y, which is very nice. I would like to try using this product again and round-brushing my whole head to then see what happens.

Overall, the rating I give this product (with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best) would be a 7. It does what it's supposed to do, and very nicely, but it does make my hair feel like there's a lot of product. Next time I'll use less of it and see if anything changes. I would recommend this to others, and depending on your haircut you can find the right one for you.

Stay beautiful,
Wren

Welcome friends, followers, etc.

Hey there everyone! So my name is Wren, and this blog is dedicated to talk about cosmetics, beauty products, my Youtube account, and other stuff going on in my life.

Let me start out with a quick introduction to myself. I'm a senior in high school, I'm a very quiet, shy person around strangers, but I'm quick to act when something interests me. I L-O-V-E makeup. It's my medium for sure. I see it more as an artform than anything else. I'm not one of those girls who just does makeup because, well, I'm a girl. I want to make a career out of it. My goal is to go to a makeup artistry school, and someday hopefully do makeup for fashion and the runway.

I'm not exactly a blogger. I'll mostly just be posting updates, product reviews, things that relate to my videos on Youtube. That's how this blog started. I've been making videos for a while--makeup tutorials, fashion videos--but I wanted to take it one step further. This will make it easier to talk to my subscribers and my fans instead of posting a long video just talking. So yeah. I hope you enjoy this blog, and hopefully I'll keep on posting.

Stay beautiful,
Wren
